Pros
There are some exceptionally talented people.
Cons
The talented people are being let go or are leaving proactively. North American VP is new to the region and is the opposite of his predecessor, a servant leader who retired after 42 years. He is cutting heads right and left, focusing on anyone who disagrees with him, has a different view, acts autonomously or argues a passionate position that is different than his limited, narrow and frequently uninformed view. I have been in a few meetings with him and am amazed at the staggering effect he has on other leaders and his direct reports. People who routinely drive discussions are sitting silent or are supporting decisions they never have in the past, in order to stay employed. The new VP will run the region into the ground. Performance will suffer and continue to decline and as North American financials decline, so with BG stock. All due to the lack of leadership in this region. I have no doubt on this, and most longtime employees feel the same. US employees refer to this as the Brazilian Mafia — which is the real issue in Bunge that the CEO is blind to. The highest levels are full of Brazilians and their incompetence and arrogance deserve a case study. The business layoffs every 3 years and currently is in middle of another one. There is no guarantee that a high performing person will stay employed so recommend you look elsewhere. Maybe consider them in a few years when Heckman leaves and the new CEO sends the Brazilians home.
