Pros

Good products, salary and benefits. Some very good people.

Cons

Used to be a great place to work. Lately the company has hired everybody available on the market with no screening, the good environment is fully lost in some departments. New employees are not in line with Biogen's style and just wonder if that is a strategic decision. Promotions are not base on commitment, results or skills. Some gets promoted in no time while others never get promoted. In my opinion the company will have more a more problems to explain decisions and changes to peers and stakeholders in future . Good salary and benefits are not enough to keep good employees. No work life balance at all, managers expect you to be available 24/7 while they are not. More and more cases of bossing took place lately. Do you think that employees will give their very best in such environment? Code of conduct is only on paper, do not raise issues or speak up about misbehave of the management if you want to stay in the company. Some people at key roles, are managing by fear and intimidation and HR does not do anything, everybody is afraid to raise the problem and for good reasons. At this point I am not sure about what does it really mean "work fearless"? Managers are not leading by example because they do not have the skills to do that. Some people with serious personality issues, because of their positions should be taken as role model. Feedbacks are only given with the intention of humiliate the employees and not in a constructive way. Some serious actions should be taken to solve this big problem. People should not be hired only because they are immediately available!

Pros

The benefits package is strong and competitive, which adds a lot of overall value. There are many internal departments and career paths, making it relatively easy to explore new roles and grow within the company. On-site cafeteria is a convenient and appreciated perk. Many colleagues are highly experienced and have been with the company and industry for years, making them great resources for learning and mentorship.

Cons

Promotion policies can be limiting—there seems to be an informal rule that prevents employees from being promoted more than once in a year, even for high performers. Salary could be more competitive compared to market rates. Equipment and internal systems feel outdated and could benefit from modernization to improve efficiency.
