Pros

Decent pay, simple job, decent benefits, always got along well with people I supervised, paid time off for managers and vacation time accrues nicely, discounts are good to you and your family, will pay to relocate you if interested, do get some face to face time with district/corporate managers.

Cons

Different stores operate differently so that can get confusing if transferred or covering Hours SUCK as management, you are married to this place and there is absolutely no set schedule and it changes every week, holidays schedule is even worse as it's all set by corporate suits. Dress code is old and dated, they have no uniforms either and you're up on your feet 4 to 8 hours a day in dress shoes There is very little room for advancement as you get higher in the chain, most store managers have been in their position for a long time (sometimes 10+ years) and corporate rarely budges on vacancy, but beginning of management career is a bit more fluid. There is little to no incentive from higher ups to do well at your job as a manager or a part time sales/cashier, just some nice words and pats on the back only go so far. Store assistant management is a revolving door people always in and out getting a better opportunity Part time staff get hosed on hours in lower volume stores Store manager attitudes are a toss up, they're either good or bad and I've worked for some serious bad ones Favoritism is also a serious issue in this company Because of the lack of staff at times, the bad eggs stay around for a long time
