Pros

Overstock is a great company. Many would say it's the culture and passion of the employees. They offer a challenging work environment, fabulous tuition reimbursement (our CEO really values education... so if you do too, you are in the right company), and flexible work space environment. Have you seen the building? It is amazing. Sometimes I want to work overtime just to stay and hangout in the building! The company is very passionate, driven, and caring. They seek great talent and they offer competitive benefits packages. By joining Overstock you will meet some amazing people who are very intelligent. Overall, Overstock is an AWESOME company and I hope you get the chance to experience it.

Cons

I always like to make sure I have a few cons because no company or person is perfect. Some leadership could use more training in the following areas: professionalism and tactfulness. There is a lot of changes in different departments, but this is ongoing with any company that is trying to grow. It is not necessarily a con, you just have to be able to handle change and do it with a positive attitude. With that being said... there is a lot of opportunities to rock it in your current role. When you do a good job.... Overstock will recognize it.

Pros

Fast paced environment with LOTS of hands-on experience with many different tools. The people are the reason to stay, lots of smart and caring people, managers, and leaders towards the bottom of the food chain.

Cons

Upper Management has completely destroyed this company and gutted it. In my several years at the company, communication is as poor as it could be. Bonuses are promised and then not followed up on. RIFs happen far too frequently. It is abundantly clear that this company does NOT care about it's employees, and at the moment is almost seems like they are trying as hard as they can to get people to quit so they don't have to pay severances before acquiring more companies and moving headquarters to Texas. The culture in the days of Overstock was incredible, it made people excited about being able to work there. Now people are hanging on by threads, large teams are now carried on the backs of just 1-2 people without additional pay as we see co-workers get laid off left and right. It is not sustainable. Important things are being missed because there are not enough people to do the work, which will end up biting the company in the butt for compliance and finance reasons.
