Pros

We work on cutting edge projects that have a direct impact on the business. Work with cool technology, too.

Cons

Some problems come from legacy days, some from new. From legacy, you have issues with nepotism. People do something that impresses someone important, regardless of quality, and get promoted far beyond their skill. This leads to leaders who aren't at all qualified. I saw a department where a new boss came in, then brought over a bunch of former employees and promoted them. The former employees favored each other. It was a mess. The company is supposed to be going through a progressive reorganization. That really seems to be cover for going back to old fashioned ways of working. Clocking time, counting widgets, sitting in a seat, scheduling your lunch. Leaders aren't trained in the most basic things - interviewing, disability, FMLA, etc. I'm honestly surprised at how often regulations are violated. I've watched massive violations of ADA. I filed at least three complaints and they were all ignored. I was discriminated against for my disability several times, including by HR.

Pros

Better pay than other companies My team - full of hardworking and knowledgable individuals.

Cons

Leadership/Management - can be micromanaging at times and not a lot of guidance/resources being provided. Projects can change swiftly at Bayer, and most of the times there's no background context given. Work/life balance - asked to be "flexible" with schedule for last-minute requests, then criticized for having life/responsibilities outside of work. Also, these last minute requests reflect poor planning on management. Lack of team morale - seems like it's all work and not a lot of play. Burnout culture and not a lot of incentives to perform better.
