Pros

Big company with a few divisions - which means you can have lateral move (if you have the right connections) and if your manager treats your development properly. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to say

Cons

Salary band doesn't make sense - it's based on which division makes more money globally. if you are working for a division that makes less money, you may be doing the same amount of job (or more if your division don't have the resources to hire more people!), of your peer in the bigger division and you get paid less for it. Plenty of politics - it's all about telling stories and making loud noises. the louder you are, the higher your chances of getting noticed and being promoted. what's the proverb about empty tins/vessels? I guess that's not well known in the company There's also a lot of favouritism that happens in the company. if you suck up well, you climb up much quicker than those who don't. come on, it's 2021! There's also a lot of denial that goes on in the company right now. There's a lot of debt from the Monsanto acquisition. and yet we receive propaganda on a regular basis on how great the company is doing and a lot of cost-cutting exercises are just the company being more focused. yeah right.

Pros

Better pay than other companies My team - full of hardworking and knowledgable individuals.

Cons

Leadership/Management - can be micromanaging at times and not a lot of guidance/resources being provided. Projects can change swiftly at Bayer, and most of the times there's no background context given. Work/life balance - asked to be "flexible" with schedule for last-minute requests, then criticized for having life/responsibilities outside of work. Also, these last minute requests reflect poor planning on management. Lack of team morale - seems like it's all work and not a lot of play. Burnout culture and not a lot of incentives to perform better.
