Pros

Laid back work-life balance, salary is adequate, hybrid work could be extended to almost being a remote.

Cons

- Career growth is close to non-existing - with "DSO" changes, most of the middle managers were laid off, so it's almost impossible to get a promotion. Also, there's no clear career path - everyone will tell you "yeah, you need to be proactive, participate in different initiatives yadda yadda yadda", but it would not guarantee anything. - Not an IT company: the engineering culture is OKish, but depends on the team you'll join. Plus, don't expect extremely interesting/challenging tasks. - Prepare to be torn between US and Warsaw offices. You'll have different managers (with their own interests) and team-members from both locations, which results in blurred vision of your own priorities.

Pros

Bayer sounds great - "health for all, hunger for none". and "dynamic shared ownership". There are some truly amazing people working at Bayer.

Cons

But it's "health for all, hunger for none" and "dynamic shared ownership" are bogus. So many people who embraced DSO were let go for voicing their opinions. The toxic leaders made the decisions, and the organization was not truly ready for Bill Anderson's call to action. It's profits first, not people. I believed - but it saddens me to write that I was wrong.
