Pros

Its a big company that can take some amount of downturn before laying off. There is a push to provide more work/life balance, but it has yet to be really embraced. If you are a chemical engineer, you dont have many choices so you just bite the bullet and take what management hands down.

Cons

This used to be one of the best companies to work for. Can I recommend it anymore? NO. I have been with the company for over 15 years and slowly watched benefits and companionship erode. First it was the pension program (switching from traditional to portable) , then it was pay freeze, then health benefits were cut. Stock plan was taken away. Then you had to pay more for the benefits you did have. Then they took away vacation carry over. Pros

Great benefits, hybrid & remote roles, great colleagues to work with. Great vacation /time off. Helpful colleagues

Cons

Reorganizations (roughly 3 years), IT roles dwindling in North America(moving to India), teams can get very silo-ed, “not my role” = not helping you (when you are looking for answers/assistance), currently seeing a lot of movement out of New Jersey (roles moving to other parts of the country), some organizational charts can be confusing, huge organization(can be difficult at times pinpointing the exact team you may need to work with)
