Pros

Collaborative environment. Pay seems on par with indusrty average, but don't expect much more.

Cons

Where do I start?? Mandatory attendance 3 days a week for UK, US and Sweden employees, Attendance is tracked and monitored through IP address logs that are checked against badge logs. Failure to adhere impacts your bonus. You'll need your manager to confirm on a dashboard that still doesn't exist (despite the rule having been in place since 1 Jan) if you are travelling or offsite or have a cold and are concerned to infect your coworkers, so that these days don't get counted as unauthorised WFH. As a result, offices are busy with people on calls all day (bring your noice cancelling headphones). All done in the spirit of collaboration, of course. Not many roles in the usual hubs any more, hiring is focused overseas. Don't expect much career growth if you are not prepared to work from a location where staff is cheaper. If you want to emigrate to India, Astrazeneca if for you.

Pros

I imagine this is very dependent on line management but I find my team and supervisors to be true champions of a high performing and highly compassionate work culture. I find my work challenging and rewarding, and have had opportunities to learn and grow and be rewarded and recognized for my output. No job is perfect but I’m truly happy to work here and at a time when AZ is truly rising like a rocket.

Cons

Like any massive global corporate entity, things can sometimes move slowly and it can be challenging to navigate a high number of constantly evolving priorities and initiatives. That being said, AZ is very clear about its north stars and values which makes it possible to prioritize work that has the most impact and alignment with the company’s ambition and business prerogatives. 60% office attendance policy is also a bit funny when oftentimes I am on Teams calls with colleagues sitting in other areas of the world.
