Pros

Meet people from all walks of life. Learn to problem solve on the spot, and your always on your feet so it keeps you healthy.

Cons

Targets, I understand stores need targets but Argos has taken it to stupid levels. Every member of staff also has their own targets for: Argos cards, product care (insurance), Email capture, add-ons, etc. These are weekly targets you have to hit, which if you where on a till all the time might be possible but your not stuck on the till, your doing delivery both main deliveries and 2 deliveries daily from hub stores, picking and giving out orders, dealing with customers picking up ebay items in store, putting away back to stock items, sending damages off, its just too much. All stores are greatly understaffed which even the customers comment on daily, hours fluctuate one week you will do your contract hours next week double that. Your also pretty much always on call, on a day off you can get a phone asking you to be in with an hours notice or less. I've even been called up during my pre-booked and confirmed holidays. The management and company in general are never happy, even if your store hits the targets they raise them and want more. They want to be known as a digital retailer and are bringing in too many new things at once, but the systems are too old and the first six months of this year the card and reservation systems on the tills have crashed three times.
