Pros

- Great colleagues - supportive from day 1. - Good rota flexibility. - A good balance of all areas of store operations, providing great experience. - 10% discount in Argos and Sainsbury's.

Cons

- Constant pressure to hit product insurance and Argos Card targets. - Entire company runs on 20+ year old technology with computers that can barely load the website (pictures of products don't even load which makes helping customers difficult and embarrassing). Systems very regularly go down and head office seems to not care when we are left to explain to customers why they can't have their item because the server has gone down. - Terrible pay for what's expected: serving on tills, picking stock, offloading delivery lorry, putting away delivery, eBay parcels and TU Clothing all for 1/3rd less than a Sainsbury's colleague, despite being part of the same company . - Variable working hours with rotas done less than a week in advance. - Huge staff turnover. I've had 5 managers in the 3 years I worked for the company and around 75% of the rest of the staff have since been replaced. - Many products are returned used and sent back to good stock and re-sold to new customers. - 'Rewards' scheme that only benefits sales colleagues who hit targets and not stockroom staff who work to keep the whole operation running. - Company slow to embrace new technologies. Still no contactless payments for example.
