Pros

Good coworkers; mostly good immediate supervisors

Cons

Salary is well below industry average and they even acknowledge that on your yearly review while the CEO makes $18 mil/yr; Spring/Summer 2020 they hired 2 batches of new employees who were fired mid-October but then offered a 2 month "extension" when they realized they shouldn't have fired anyone- if you are looking at jobs now, that means you are their replacements, but there is nothing to stop them from firing a bunch of people again; they fired about 30% of our department, and it sounds like the same for claims and Service/ASIC/billing; these firings had nothing to do with the pandemic (they explicitly said this), it was because they wanted to cut costs (but anything but cutting the CEO's inflated salary); insurance is so bad you might as well not have it b/c going to the doctor will cost you $100-200; home office in Chicago makes horrible decisions, irrespective of how it affects Hudson; training used to be decent but is now completely inadequate; they brag about their new systems but they were designed by those no longer doing our job so they are buggy and aren't always what we need; we went from getting months of training to work a single state to getting just 10 hours of training to cover 10 more states because of mismanagement; the stress will literally make you sick; they advertise covering schooling but the list is extremely short, including things like insurance and journalism; you have to use your rest breaks to use the restroom- if you need to use the restroom more, you could get in trouble, so fair warning to people with stomach issues or women who have more difficult periods; at times we have had to take 4-7 chats at a time- it is currently down to 2-3, but they could raise it again at any time; they have cut PTO for more tenured employees because they know that if you've worked there for 20 years that you won't leave because of it, but it will save them money; even if they promise you permanent work from home they could pull you into the office at any time- they do NOT keep their word; we are told not to discuss our pay- that is illegal, but they do it because they don't want you to discover how skewed the pay can be; they like to brag about their work/life balance, but many of my coworkers and I often find it very hard to disconnect from work at the end of the day because it is so stressful and they've been treating us so badly lately, even though we've pointed out how bad this year has been for people.

Pros

Large Stable company, decent benefits, provide social gathering opportunities for remote employees.

Cons

Communication is not the best. from leadership down or between departments. Perception is valued higher then performance. Under stress people may turn hostile and the leadership is not equipped to address in well. In case of my manager some of the expectations were not reasonable.
