Pros

The more tenured employees and managers truly seem to enjoy what they do. There is a big emphasis on professional development, philanthropy, and transparency. Since most people commute, working hours are somewhat flexible and working from home is allowed depending on which team you join. Some (not all) teams do not require business casual attire during a typical workweek.

Cons

1) Compensation/Benefits - Pay for junior employees/managers is well below competitors in the area and there is a noticeable issue with employee retention. Also, in 2017 the healthcare plan moved from decent premiums to a high-deductible ($2000 for individuals; $4000 for families) while pay remains flat. 2) Location, location, location - Unless you're an officer, you probably can't afford to live near HQ, meaning you'll be in the car 2+ hours a day commuting from the city/west suburbs.

Pros

Large Stable company, decent benefits, provide social gathering opportunities for remote employees.

Cons

Communication is not the best. from leadership down or between departments. Perception is valued higher then performance. Under stress people may turn hostile and the leadership is not equipped to address in well. In case of my manager some of the expectations were not reasonable.
