Pros

They are always hiring, and the pay is decent if your going to school or something, but you can't live make a living of it. Depending on where you work, the work load can be minimal.

Cons

Everything is dictated by clients that contract out alliedbarton. So, if the client wants to u to wear long sleeves and black pants in 100 degree weather for a mall cop position then that's what they get. The company has absolutely no concern for its employees. You are what I like to call expendable. My location has swept sexual harassment allegations under the rug, treated employees unfairly, and is constantly added tasks and work to employees; regardless of what is contracted between the client and alliedbarton. Now, this will very between work sites, but the site I am at is completely undermining it's employees. The employees at my job site have even been told by a former supervisor that out security director believes us all to be complete dumbasses. I have a lot more to say about this company, but I think we all get the idea. It is what you make of it, and it all depends on the site you get.

Pros

Once you've networked with the right people it becomes all success and excellence. Through my years of experience with Allied Universal, I was fortunate enough to work with the right accommodations and site placements. I even had a chance to demonstrate supervisor status that I never did before in private security. I think Allied Universal gives chances to anyone eager enough to try gainful employment with opportunities to prove it. One quality pro factor that Allied Universal offers is through your journey of work placements at client sites, one client site will eventually become your primary site by choice to stay permanently as a career.

Cons

Career growth is slow because Allied Universal is humongous as both a company and private corporation. Opportunities don't exist often after getting your Guard Card but if you take the opportunities as an opportunistic, you'll do fine and reach the next stages in bottom management.
