Pros

Pay and benefits aside - which are great - at AlixPartners you will work on the toughest business cases, work with the c-suite, board members, and PE Firm leadership. AlixPartners is well known for getting fast results leveraging a mix of industry experts who also have top tier consulting experience. The Firm will also invest in anyone willing to do the work to develop their own consulting niche / practice. You'll get real coaching from leadership who will provide the coaching needed for professional growth and advancement. This is a 100% merit based Firm. Results matter and winning as a team and elevating each other is a high cultural expectation. The new hire screening targets those who are wired to support and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Cons

Working at AlixPartners is a calling and not for everyone. When you work on critical business cases, you'll need to expect occasional long hours and weekend work - it is a part of the job. Client expectations are high when they chose to hire AlixPartners based on a hard earned reputation of getting results in the most difficult - seemingly impossible - business situations. Stress levels are typically always high as everyone on the project team feels personal responsibility to meet and exceed every client expectation. Expect to travel every week, but there are projects that occasionally allow remote work.

Pros

Hybrid work model, benefits (lots of paid time off, school tuition reimbursement, medical, dental, vision, insurance, etc.), some great people to work with, possibility to contribute to high level work

Cons

Understaffed, hiring freezes, working with client services who treat you as if you’re lesser than them, untrained managers, no career trajectory, working with incompetent individuals who can’t get fired, takes a long time to make changes/complete projects, unrealistic expectations, corporate politics
