Pros

You and dependents get clear aligners for free. Okay, I can't think of anything else. Actually, the people you work with are nice. And, we started getting bananas and apples. If you don't have a job, it's a fantastic place to be. But if you have options, make sure you know what you're getting into.

Cons

The office location: it's really annoying to sit for half an hour on a stop sign. One of the most expensive areas in the Greater Raleigh area. There is no personal space at all. We are growing so fast we're about to start sharing desks. The office has so many issue, I almost forgot, the internet connection reminded me of 1980s dial-up speed. Also, your desktop is way less powerful than what your need. Your laptop is good for Office tools and small toy projects. I worked for much smaller and much bigger organizations in Raleigh. Align's perks are lacking: No perk, none by 2016 standards. If that's important to you, ask about the details, quality and frequency, when a 'breakfast' or 'party' or 'coffee' claims are made. If english is your only language, be prepared to be hearing conversations you don't understand, all the time. Health insurance benefits just got much less attractive, "to match the average" ones in the market and such as much. There is not work-from-home policy; if you don't have a very good reason, you better be at the office. The future of the R&D division in Raleigh is not clear. If stability is what you're after, beware.

Pros

It used to be a good company who made a premium product, with smart coworkers, interesting tasks that involved a lot of math problems, with detailed code reviews. It still has generous PTO, sick days and a discounted lunch (in Raleigh office).

Cons

Management changed and there is an ongoing optimisation with hidden layoffs / force quits with no severance. Biased performance reviews with high expectations. Frequent goal changes and useless projects that will eventually be terminated and the whole team will be shuffled or dismissed. Complete delivery mess. Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Knowledge transfer sucks. The only way to understand the feature is to dig into the code (bad for newbies). New unqualified and arrogant low-level managers and team-leads, hide their uselessness on endless meetings, blah-blah-blahing with no real impact just to add visibility. A lot of stress, 5 days from office in an open space with no remote option even for new parents. The base is low with no stocks. Pro-Russian company, previously based in Moscow, relocated the whole office to the US and Europe due to sanctions during Russian-Ukrainian war (they recently laid-off a few Ukrainian guys).
