Pros
Fair compensation and incentive program; excellent health benefits and and exceptional 401(k) match. Lots of internal opportunities created by Novartis-induced high turnover rates (the silver lining to the dark cloud). Great campus with cafeteria, company store, fitness center and outdoor recreation options (running, volleyball, basketball).
Cons
The continued transition as a division of Novartis - and the voluntary and involuntary flight of talent - has put this company on a slow decline. Morale and employee engagement suffered significantly during the extended Novartis acquisition, and the integration process has been painful. Far too often, the directions out of Basel are form over substance, focusing on adhering to the required standard process rather than assessing applicability and impact. Work/life balance is elusive here. Far too much work allocated to far to few employees. IT systems are incapable of meeting Novartis demands and timetables. As a result, often work is done outside systems, then later forced in manually.
