Pros

I cannot recall any pros since the Advent Health acquisition

Cons

Advent Health Corp has ruined the Denver Metro area hospitals. They do not support staff, micromanage staff, contributing to a high rate of employee resignations in the region. No incentives, such as no performance raises ( just minimal cost of living raises) , and very poor benefits . Aetna insurance is only option with a high rate of care denials. Employees are now required to fully pay for their own short term and long term disability coverage. Worst organization I have ever worked for. Salaried professional workers required to work on site long days Mon-Friday and weekends in orders to ‘get the work done!’

Pros

Benefits are okay. Other companies have way better benefits, that truly reflect that they care about their employees and their physical and mental health.

I was with this company for over five years. I also previously worked with Epic as a front-end user and have over 3 years of IT experience. Unfortunately, the longer you work here, the more you realize how difficult it is to receive a job offer unless you already know someone. I’ve personally applied to countless Epic Associate positions, many of them labeled as “entry level/associate” yet they consistently hire candidates who already have extensive Epic experience. What’s the point of posting an entry-level job if it isn’t truly meant for entry-level candidates? Positions like these should exist for individuals who are trying to break into the Epic world and genuinely want the opportunity to learn and grow. Instead, it feels like hiring leaders no longer want to invest time in training people for entry-level roles. More often than not, they either hire someone with existing Epic experience or someone they personally know. Another frustrating reality is how much time internal employees are expected to waste during the interview process. Hiring leaders often interview internal candidates even when they already know they have no intention of hiring them, simply as a “courtesy interview.” This creates false hope while also forcing employees to take time away from their current roles for interviews that don’t feel genuine. I’ve had interviews where the hiring leader kept their camera off and appeared distracted on their personal phone the entire time. I’ve had interviews where the first 15 minutes were spent talking about the position, leaving only a few rushed minutes for me to answer questions and ask my own. I’ve also experienced panel interviews where it was obvious from the beginning that people were distracted and not fully engaged. In some cases, hiring leaders were even late to the interview and did the interview via their phones. If you’re interested in becoming an Epic Analyst but don’t already have experience, you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, you may end up wasting a lot of time chasing opportunities that were never truly open to beginners in the first place
