Pros

The vacation is great. The people by and large are great people. The projects are really interesting. It's a great place to learn new skills.

Cons

There is a constant pressure in terms of chargeability and rank in laddering. There is a constant pressure to getting staffed, but if you get staffed on the wrong project, or a project where there are too many people at the same level as you, the competition in the laddering process can make it exceedingly difficult. This is not a major problem unless you are highly chargeable and only worked on one project through the course of the year. One source of input can destroy you. Simultaneously being on many projects with high ranks and low utilization can also hurt you because chargeability is a key metric as well. I've been screwed over a few times in the promotion process and likely a reason I don't want to return to Accenture or consulting in general. The travel can get bad after a certain point.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
