Pros

Great team to work with, frequent social activities (BBQs, etc), able to do overtime in the busy season, great health benefits and RRSP matching after 2 years.

Cons

Overtime bans at some times of the year, forced leave in the quiet times, some shifts are not beneficial to family/social life, not much opportunity for advancement.

Your comments are very much appreciated. It is great that you enjoy some of the perks we offer at ALS! Our Waterloo location puts a lot of thought in to organizing events and keeping the local culture fun. It is true that we are in a seasonal business which means that we ask our employees to work overtime when it is busy and take leaves when it is slow. We do this so we can offer permanent work to more employees rather than having to conduct lay-offs during the slow season. We do recognize the impact it has on our employees and try to minimize it as much as possible. We are always looking to advance great people! With a network of laboratories across the world, there are most definitely opportunities for those who may want to consider relocating (staying within your own laboratory or city does limit the options available). Please speak to your HR representative or visit the MyCareer link on the ALSnet Sharepoint site for more information on how to grow your career with us! Please continue to provide us with your insights and feedback so we can find ways to continuously improve.

Pros

Pretty much veryone is on the spectrum, so not much small talk is expected, noise-cancelling headphones and fidget toys are the norm.

Cons

No pay increases. Like none. Ever.
