Pros

Opportunity to learn multiple things Good atmosphere in the Lisbon office Good pay for Lisbon standards (which are low) The company is good if you are an intern or have little experience, be really careful if you already have some experience and a steady position in your current company

Cons

Bad management culture Very high turnover Not much respect for people and their work People are seen as easily replaceable

Emma DNA 🧬

Pros

growth story - the company has achieved a good level of commercial and financial success Some products are good and you get a discount You meet some nice people and have good social activity endorsed by the company Dynamic environment always a lot going on Information sharing - a lot of presentations / meeting you can participate to know things outside your scope Access to education/learning modules and external trainings At some level - autonomy and no micro management you can manage your own time to some extent You are free to come up with your own ideas and do/test things

Cons

The culture - Emma DNA is not real, people don’t actually embody and live up to it. Besides being entrepreneurial. Ie highly political company, no team feeling - teams are often pitted against each other, accountability is really low A lot of the team leads are really junior and don’t know how to manage a team and people, many have been promoted as a retention mechanism. This generates frustration within the teams and poor performance. As the teams don’t know what and how to do things this also generates frustration and collision with other teams which have dependencies. As performance is not objectively measured and managers don’t know how to evaluate the quality of the work performed as they are not experts themselves and don’t know how to manage a team, the more you show up up to discussions to give your opinion and make yourself heard, the best. This create an atmosphere where everyone is always challenging everyone and people are afraid to speak when they are actually knowledgeable about the topics because agreeness only comes when certain people speak even if you said the same thing 2 minutes before.
