Great place for an Internship

Pros

People are very warm and welcoming, they are also willing to help you with tasks. The culture is great, as you get to talk to different people regardless of your position. Global exposure is also a great opportunity. I learned a lot professionally and have grown personally through this internship. Work-life balance is attainable but not for everyone.

Cons

Turnover has been increasing in the APAC region recently across different teams. Teams are being structured without proper planning / headcounts being tossed around different teams. Company hires too much interns to make up for the lack of full-time on the team, and workload can be demanding for some teams. Defending why things work in an APAC context can be draining and can be demotivating. Lack of opportunities for fresh graduates.

Pros

* Flexible WFH policy of 23 days a quarter. * Diverse team (every nationality to work with). People are great in general. (But also very team dependent. Also had some terrible managers before in Emma). * Culture is great in other offices (Lisbon and Manila) - not necessarily Frankfurt office. * General work life balance is okay but some teams/roles overwork still. * Financially - company overlook seems okay. Despite the general financial struggle over the past few years (i.e. layoffs in June 2024) and slight shrinking in revenue due to the global economic crisis, overlook seems okay.

Cons

* Had a huge global layoffs in June 2024. * Changing promotions/salary increase cycle to be longer and extremely difficult. Only gives 3-5% increase on performance-base and claims the employees should be thankful about this. Absolutely does not match inflation and living cost in Frankfurt. * No overtime payment. Force free overtime up to 10hrs by adding this onto the employee contract. * No bonus policy. * No useful corporate benefits. No free lunch/lunch budget or transportation benefits. (also no work phone). * Becoming stricter on the WFH policy so basically losing all the Pros. * Some of the senior management is way too young with no proper work experience. All 'home grown' talent that have just been in Emma since intership (uni graduation). People who do enter with 5+ good work experience goes under these people. Makes no sense.
