Pros

Great colleagues with diverse backgrounds in an international environment. Opportunity to try different responsibilities. Data-driven environment in which people can test their ideas and hypotheses. Great at employer branding and marketing (see more in cons).

Cons

Do not be enticed by the manager title. Everyone gets one except interns. It is like the Oprah show: “You get a manager title, you get a manager title - everyone gets a a manager title”. Very little focus on employee retainment. People that have worked over 1 year are seen as veterans. Turnover of 60% in the team I am part of. C-level management sees employees as replaceable. Doesn’t make sense when they spend a lot of time and resources on recruitment but bare minimum at retainment. Just see the number of open positions as a proof of this. The issue above is also related to the ongoing theme of focusing on short term gains rather then long term. Make as much money as possible even if it means not being honest to your customers. Revenue before all. See the last point in pros. Emma is great at employer branding and marketing, which leads to false advertising. Promise prospective employees apples but give them bananas, and then ignores that fact. Promise flexible home office policy in recruitment process but remove later the rule for everyone in the company. A clear top-down decision that has been made without getting feedback from employees. Strange decision to do when most employees are expats who want to utilise home office days to stay longer in their home countries during holidays. As the title said, lack of empathy and understanding from leaders. Compensation not competitive. Note that Glassdoor ratings and reviews are skewed. Same reasoning here as in other 1 and 2 star reviews.
