Pros

Excellent benefits. I worked for a Manager who actually cared about his people. Most of the folks sitting next to you will help you out when ever you need it. They don't have formal training - but your peers do a good job teaching you.

Cons

My manager wasnt the most knoweldgable about SAP. He listened too much to Marketing (who still knows nothing) They started using a screwed up way for charging for freight upsetting customers. Bad Website. Selling parts is easy - Ya gotta make it easy.

Pros

Fair treatment and superlative advancement opportunities were what made Ecolab a great place to work. It is an outstanding company and has taken the lead in environmental responsibility with regards to chemical manufacturing, distribution, and application.

Cons

There is a lot of competition within the organization which is not a bad scenario. Sometimes personal gain is thrust in front of team building which may lead to dissemination among the ranks. Management is well aware of the pitfalls, and takes corrective action to deal with "ladder climbing" and "back stabbing".

Rewarding work, great co-workers, poor leadership

Pros

The co-workers and interaction with key customers make this job worth it. The teamwork and frequent interfacing with customers to complete very important projects is fulfilling.

Cons

There is little to no strategic vision within the divisions. The communication and cooperation between the silo-ed divisions is poor. Poor pay for the incredible amount of hours and demands placed upon employees at every level. Ecolab is significantly behind in technology and there seems to be no desire to catch up. Feedback and recognition are non-existent unless you are fortunate enough to be a part of an old school clique.
