      Great reputation in marketplace - many surprises discovered, new manager each year, male dominated, very political

      Pros

      Great people at middle to lower levels, good pay & benefits, CEO Baker is very solid and approachable

      Cons

      Lack of advancement, all marketing Directors or VP's hired from outside, no IT infrastructure at all, Sales and Finance run strategy, all senior mgmt on top 4 floors in bldg, no performance improvement or coaching, way too many people changing positions for continuity, focus on short term vs. long term results, still buy laptops vs. lease and keep them for 5 years!, no link between performance reviews and pay increases!

      Pros

      I worked for more than 25 years at Nalco, which is now a business unit of Ecolab. Nalco's employees are truly its greatest asset. It was a pleasure to work with those employees over my career there.

      Cons

      Over the years I worked at Nalco, I saw a gradual erosion in the level of employee benefits. Of course, the same could probably be said for nearly all companies.
