Ecolab is $12B global company stuck in the mindset of a $500M St Paul centric company. They are not a company that embraces change. They've outgrown the days when personal relationships can be the basis for all exchange of information, but refuse to acknowledge this and won't invest in updated IT systems. The numerous long term employees yearn for the good old days, and wonder why any change is necessary. Passive-aggressive behavior is far too common, even at the highest levels in the organization. Budgets are managed on a quarter-by-quarter basis, always under the specter of corporate budget pullbacks, so successful long term projects are a rarity.
