Pros

The foundation of Eaton and the Vision, Mission, Values, and Work Philosophies are solid. Overall teh work systems and tools are good and Eaton's reputation seems solid in the market with customer and potential employees. Career advancement opportunities are good.

Cons

Big company - so, not very flexible and agile. Recent acquisitions have grown the business to the point - leadership talent is spread very thin in key roles. This is a conservative and risk adverse company. Core focus is diversified industrial - OEM - and to a lessor extent service. Service as a growth engine has taken a step back 2012/2013.

Pros

The personnel are nice and the manufacturing facility is onsite.

Cons

Immature working environment. Company still uses the drawings as Master and is progressive for the 1960s. Low level design work is not challenging and work is almost non-existent. Higher level engineers are green with low levels of maturity and ethics. Middle management is clueless and overcompensates by micromanagement. Overall, one of the worst places I have ever worked.

Pros

A caring company that believes the wellfare of their employees affects the bottom line in a positive way. Very good work life balance. Good benefits. The people are relaxed, not formal. Good for me, but not for everyone.

Cons

Work experience and satisfaction may vary upon location and business unit, true with any global company. Holiday time off is very back end loaded. You get the time off, but most of it is at the end of the year, from Thanksgiving to the new year. After that it is a long drought. You can use your vacation time to break it up if you want. The interview process is painfully long. While it seems to successful in getting the right person for the jom, most of the time, the length of time that it takes may turn off some people.
