Pros

It was a great place to work at. I really liked the company culture - meaning that they actually acted like they say they act - at least at that short time (10 months) I was there. My colleagues were great people to work with, Who I will miss dearly. Great leadership. I was given trust from the beginning, I felt as equal and my opinion was valued. Sure, this is department specific, but it still shows that Eaton is somewhat a good company. I left because I moved to software development - which I enjoy more. If I didn't have such aspirations to be a developer, this could be a great place to stay at for a longer time (given that they continuously increase the salary at least to counter the inflation).

Cons

Company had a 2 or 3 days work from office policy - it did not affect me as I could get away with it (frankly, all of my direct colleagues were in another country, mostly UK ), but this is definitely a con as in some teams you may need adhere to this policy. As others wrote - it has somewhat a "US first" mentality, which did not affect us negatively at the time.

Pros

Eaton has a good name, was the leader in the market, this is a double-edge sword as they are on a downward death spiral. Lots of really good people that want to do the right thing, unfortunately, the good people are not in management positions!

Cons

Eaton "owned" the market for powertrain components, but the market changed. They enjoyed huge margins, but the shift in market demand to a different approach meant there was nowhere to go but down. However, like every large corporation, negative growth is unacceptable, the mantra is "you need to find a way to grow", but there is no way to grow when they are unable to compete in the new world. There are unattainable targets for people in sales roles, setting up for terrible working environment. The management team of the division is really clueless and afraid to tell Eaton leadership that the game is up.
