Pros

Supposed to be a diversified player in manufacturing. Strong background in hydraulics engineering backed up with expertise across the globe.

Cons

Eaton is like this mirage that disappears when you go close to it. Atleast that's how the Service Centre out here works. The manner in which pay cuts were implemented in 2008 left a lot to be desired. Most important, people were sacked on reasons the company deemed "ETHICAL". Employees lived under the constant fear of being fired, leading to drop in morale, motivation and eventually performance levels.

Pros

Benefits are good, compatible with other Fortune 200's. Education reimbursement program is good. Salary is neutral compared to competitors. Ok place to start your career.

Cons

Don't expect to make much more money than your starting salary. Review system is a joke that is not used to make long term employment decisions. If you've shut down a plant somewhere you stand a good chance of getting a job. That seems to be the main requriement for employment.

Pros

Used to be a good place to work, but that really doesn't mean anything now. Eaton is a good company if you are an investor because they will do anything, including treating employees like trash to make the books look good.

Cons

Where to begin? Incompetent leadership seems to be a way of life at Eaton. We get ethics rammed down our throats but rarely see it demonstrated at higher levels. The outsourcing at Eaton is a big joke. Quality and community support take a back seat while supplier business is solely based on the lowest bidder. No raises, a month off without pay, massive firings and suspension of the 401K match have made for an interesting year at Eaton. Years with record profits bear no fruit for the employees.
