Pros

If you can get into Document Imaging, congrats. It's a division of Kodak not well known by the public eye but they bring in a large sum of money to the bottom line and they are repeatedly an inter-company model of how a great business is run. These people have a business model that is realistic - programs get grilled for their worthiness and, for the most part, they don't survive for long if a good business case doesn't exist. Also, the management knows how to present themselves to the corporate managers as being a viable business to get sufficient funding.

Cons

Downsizing for the last 4 years. STILL downsizing but not being public about it. Too many old timers bitching about how the company's been falling for twenty years. Employee resentment of management(because of 20 years of downfall).

Pros

There are many divisions and many different types of opportunities available. Can meet and network with many people and gather experience across a wide spectrum of jobs. They are doing a great job re-doing the KP landscape as well.

Cons

The stock price has sunk lately and there is concern for the future. The parking lots are too far away - crossing Mt. Read blvd in the winter is terrible. Parking needed on West side of Ridge Road. A little too much out sourcing.

Pros

If you are in the part of the company that is growing: - there are exciting new business opportunities - management is interested and listening; genuine interest in regaining workforce trust and morale - you will have access to more resources - priority given to making effective positive changes If you are looking for a place to settle down (Rochester, NY): - you will have a short commute (apparent 25 min average) - diversity of housing options, relatively affordable - if you're into golf, this is the place - Toronto is 3hr. away - moderate climate (except for the occasional blizzard)

Cons

Generally: - under-funded development - over-engineered processes - we sell profitable businesses and technology - "everyone counts; some people just count more than others" - we are far from the "100 Best Places to Work" list - outsourced & contracted services often not interested in excellence - special interest groups thrive If you are in the part of the company that is not growing: - you are managing a business to squeeze out cash - innovation is not welcome - you will work in a culture of deprivation Living in Rochester: - Winter usually runs from December through April - New York taxes and Albany neglect
