Pros

Good company brand and standard corporate benefits, flexible work culture, can work from home if your team is good. If not they might take attendance.

Cons

The tax department that I am in is currently plagued by a highly toxic and unprofessional culture, driven entirely by a Tax Director. Targeted Bullying & Favoritism: Management seems heavily leaning on personal biases rather than performance. Favourites are openly courted (often through non-professional means like baking cakes), while those deemed "not hardworking" based on subjective prejudice are subjected to subtle bullying, obsessive nitpicking, and malicious gossip. Toxic Atmosphere: This one director frequently spreads harmful rumors and opinions about people under her, creating an environment of paranoia and distrust. Zero Escalation Path: The Director's manager (the partner) is a close friend, meaning all internal feedback is protected, dismissed, or met with retaliation. There is no psychological safety or accountability here and no form of recourse except to tolerate or leave. Mass Attrition: Because of this oppressive regime, morale is at an all-time low, and team turnover is rapidly accelerating.

Pros

EY provides a well-structured mentoring system and strong study support, which can be very helpful for early-career professionals. The firm also has clear reward and recognition mechanisms that motivate employees and make good performance feel valued.

Cons

DiversityThere is still room for improvement in terms of diversity and inclusiveness. The environment could feel more welcoming, particularly for employees from different cultural or personal backgrounds.
