Pros

It's a job during a pandemic.

Cons

low pay, no job security, no guarantee you will even finish out a shift due to the bizarre AI they have assigning you to prompts and calibrations at random times during your shift, no useful feedback. I could go on.

Troubled Business with Inability to Change

Pros

The pay is very competitive and management seems to care about employee personal needs related to family emergencies. To be clear, my direct management while at ETS was very good and worked very hard to make the job as bearable as possible. Also, everyone I worked directly with were terrific.

Cons

ETS senior leadership believes they know everything there is to know about any industry they enter into, even if they've never been there before. I was specifically hired outside of ETS to be an expert on the workforce testing industry and then at almost every turn, my advice and counsel was ignored, making worse and worse decisions, driving my business unit into a more and more troubled position. In short, ETS was unable to adapt to a new market and failed to be able to listen to experienced advice over my almost 5 year tenure, leading to the failure of a major business opportunity. My advice to prospective employees is to be wary of "new" business directions taken by ETS, because they will likely mismanage the opportunity and destroy it. If you are entering into one of their flagship brands, you're likely safe.

Pros

Nice campus, good benefits, work-life balance

Cons

I can't stress enough how detrimental Data Analysis is for someone's career at ETS. For a college graduate, it may be good for about a year or two, take advantage of SAS courses they may offer, and get out. Do not stay there for longer than that, because there is nowhere to go. They recruit intelligent college graduates since their starting pay is pretty competitive. However, once you are there for a couple of years, you begin to see that there isn't room for growth. The salary becomes stagnant, and there is a ceiling. Management is completely disorganized. They have a quota as to how many employees can be at certain levels, and there is no rhyme or reason as to who they would promote. Basically if your manager is buddies with you, they may choose to try and push you to next level. Politics at it's finest. Even if you are promoted, the salary increase is a complete joke. This line is so job specific that you really don't obtain skills transferable to outside of that realm. If you are there, learn SAS programming and get out. If you are interested in working your way up within a company and obtaining skills that translate, this is not the place for you.
