Pros

If you desire work life balance, friendly, laid back people, being risk adverse, and excel at being passive aggressive, and are fine with working in a company run by prima donna R&D types, this is the place for you.

Cons

The core products and methodologies have not changed since introduced over 75 years ago. While modern tech has been used to automate how things are done, the core products (GRE, TOEFF, Praxis, TOEIC, and The College Board SAT and AP) have not changed in well over 50 years. They continue to lose market share, have zero ability to innovate due to a fixed mindset tightly controlled by outdated R&D organization and each day grow closer to total irrelevancy. It's only a matter of time before they die.

Pros

work from home, save on gas, i guess something is better than nothing

Cons

i do not add "flexible' because that implies employee choice. Yes I can choose to not work Fri-Sun BUT they can and DO OFTEN kill my CONFIRMED hours at ETS discretion. So I CAN choose 9 shifts only BUT if ETS grants me 9 shifts then cancels or modifies (modify = reduce hours) 5 of those shifts - how much choice am I really exercising?? I order my life based on a work schedule - which they decrease so often that I am about to give up. New policy: if ETS adds you last minute to the schedule. ETS will NOT send you a courtesy email to notify you. WHAT kind of BS is that??? VERY VERY little support for at home workers, I have gotten multiple threatening letters and it takes me FOREVER to get the issue resolved. Even though resolved in my favor it is a terrible way to treat employees and leaves me questioning why anyone would work this way. Low pay for required skill level I have asked "support staff" questions multiple times and NEVER gotten responses. You will never meet anyone in person. You will wait on hold forever for phone support. You will never be given the benefit of doubt because ETS has no knowledge of you. Definitely treated like a cog and nothing more.
