Pros

Good way to pick up extra income. Fully online. Training is adequate and sufficient support from staff.

Cons

Pay is low. Seasonal and changing needs for raters would make it difficult to rely on steady income.

Wretched low Pay, Extremely High Demands

Pros

what are the pros here

Cons

-Terrible, terrible pay. The pay has been Reduced and it is NOT commensurate with the difficulty of the work. -Extremely high stress job. They have extremely High demands for perfection & High quotas/Daily/Hourly/Second by Second Monitors. -Difficult tests that need to be taken 2-4 times per day. They are loaded with trick questions. If you fail, they make a note so it counts against you and your future hours. Also surprise tests are given at random, so you have to spend part of your short 30 minute lunch break studying! You also have study on your off time if you want to "pass". No additional pay for that off course. - Considering the difficulty & lofty demands of this job, (We are also told it's a High Stakes Test) I feel like a brain surgeon/pilot that is only making minimum wage! Yet we only have the flimsy title of "Rater" -No raises, vacation pay, end of the year bonuses Ever. If we do a good job and finish early we get enjoy being Cancelled for the next day or two. So less of a paycheck even if you have cancelled plans, jobs, or anything else that could have earned you Income.

Pros

work from home, save on gas, i guess something is better than nothing

Cons

i do not add "flexible' because that implies employee choice. Yes I can choose to not work Fri-Sun BUT they can and DO OFTEN kill my CONFIRMED hours at ETS discretion. So I CAN choose 9 shifts only BUT if ETS grants me 9 shifts then cancels or modifies (modify = reduce hours) 5 of those shifts - how much choice am I really exercising?? I order my life based on a work schedule - which they decrease so often that I am about to give up. New policy: if ETS adds you last minute to the schedule. ETS will NOT send you a courtesy email to notify you. WHAT kind of BS is that??? VERY VERY little support for at home workers, I have gotten multiple threatening letters and it takes me FOREVER to get the issue resolved. Even though resolved in my favor it is a terrible way to treat employees and leaves me questioning why anyone would work this way. Low pay for required skill level I have asked "support staff" questions multiple times and NEVER gotten responses. You will never meet anyone in person. You will wait on hold forever for phone support. You will never be given the benefit of doubt because ETS has no knowledge of you. Definitely treated like a cog and nothing more.
