Pros

EF is truly one of the most open and transparent company I have worked in. Without any complicated layers of management, employees are encouraged to openly communicate and express their ideas and views. Entrepreneur spirit is highly regarded at EF, so you are constantly encouraged to manage your projects/ responsibilities as if you owned it. It's also a very very international company with easily over 10 different nationalities in a single office. EF is for people who love to travel and who'd embrace an international career plus opportunities to work overseas in over offices and schools in over 40 countries around the world.

Cons

It is a super fast-paced and proactive company, so it may not be for everyone!

Pros

I like its family culture, everyone is treated as a member of the whole family, to get support and caring from your bosses. And more important, EF allows you to make mistakes, very tolerant. Besides, there is no distance between you and others from other departments, as long as you can pick up the phone, you can reach anyone, even have a lunch talk with big boss. Then, I also like the beautiful office building in Shanghai, the most cool office I have ever seen in my life. The most important, I can always meet very talented people in different area working around me, positive, energetic, smart and friendly, very impressive. Talking to them is also good learning to me.

Cons

If the office can be much closer to my house, that would be great.

Pros

Range of teaching opportunities in the arts, culture, technologies; broad base of employee skills and management is open to creation of new courses. EF downtown Vancouver is in the process of becoming unionized,

Cons

Salaries are low - the private sector of ESL tends to give low wages and full course loads. Minimum requirements for teachers. Difficult to rise through the ranks as head teachers/director positions held by administrative staff.
