Good place to work, as long as you can forget about work as soon as you leave.

Pros

Easy teaching structure, good pay, friendly office staff. When management thanks the teachers via giftcards or a night out, that helped bring everyone together as a "family".

Cons

Last minute schedule changes with no notice to the teacher. Mandatory meetings that are sometimes extremely redundant and a waste of a lunch period. Teachers that form cliques and are extremely rude, with little reprimand from management.

Pros

EF is one of the bigger English Institutes in Santiago, so there are always plenty of classes. Students are generally very kind and extremely motivated to learn English. The compensation is pretty good compared to other salaries in Chile.

Cons

Teachers receive little to no feedback about classes. Although English First as a whole offers teacher development workshops, it is never announced to teachers actually working at the institute and therefore we are unable to participate in such training. Small pay raises are usually given each year, but there are almost no opportunities to ever be promoted.
