Pros
People are nice and usually highly qualified. Company is good at insuring that processes get followed and that pay and benefits are at least average in the industry. Good manufacturing/operations
Cons
Weak leadership except at the topmost levels. Politics has been skewed by at least the fear of if not the fact of a might makes right culture. Rank and file are officially allowed to reach up to air issues but are in fact greatly discouraged from or punished for doing so. So, company changes very slowly and the average employee has very little perspective about anything beyond their day to day tasks. Tellingly, most processes require following a long checklist rather than sound judgment; and the most competent are often left unappreciated while brownnoses win. And there are rewards for fingerpointing- so aggressive climbers win even when it hurts the company.
