Pros

Great spirits portfolio with amazing brands that seem to endure any adverse conditions. Many talented people in the company and respectful work environment. Decent salaries and benefits overall, although not the best out there. Supportive when needed in terms of health, family issues, etc. Good school for development at an early career stage.

Cons

DIAGEO used to be one of the best companies to work for. Excellent Values and culture, everybody was proud of working there. The last 4-5 years it has changed a lot and not for the better. Politics have been taken to a whole new level, it is not what you know and what you do but who you know (preferably one of the illuminati's that can leverage your career with the exec). Many people promoted to positions without having the experience or knowledge of the business required. It always comes down to "leadership capabilities"="the better you manage up, the bigger leader you are". Add to that an OD every 2 years and you get the results: Many experienced people in the industry leaving the company one way or the other, and being replaced by people from other companies/industries without a clue of what needs to be done or the challenges of the spirits industry; instead of promoting or giving the chance to internal people. Last but not least: HHRR needs to be replaced; 100% of them no doubt. "Never trust anyone" attitude, they are not there to help and develop people and careers, their job has come down to make statistics look good and save money to the company. Very old and antagonistic practices, where at the end it is easier to manage a lot of average people than striving to improve conditions and develop careers for AWESOME people. Not creating conditions that will attract and retain the best talent.
