Pros

Time off .... and you will want it. Decent pay.

Cons

No real technology, too much management, horrible work-life balance. With so many other places hiring why would you ever work here. Find some where without 300 H1B1 visa indentured servants. Find some where with interesting technologies. Find some where that doesn't dictate your dress code, your weekends and your investments. Find some where you won't hate going to work every morning.

Not a Smart Career Decision

Pros

Excellent pay and benefits. Local center has a lot of fun activities (provided you have enough time in your schedule to participate) and supports diversity.

Cons

I walked into a mess. Senior leadership seems support unproductive and unprofessional behavior among the D ranks which is felt downwards throughout the organization. This has been a career low. I am thoroughly disappointed in the lack of maturity and unproductive atmosphere. Shakeup in the senior ranks leave them scrambling to find sacrificial lambs. This is not a direct reflection of the local leadership, but rather leadership in reporting lines sitting in other offices.

Pros

There are a lot of good, smart people working at DB. Interesting deals and structures being done. Still a great name to have on your resume.

Cons

There is an overall culture of bowing down to senior management, like they're kings and queens. Nobody is willing to push back. The ranks of senior management change constantly, and with each change comes a new host of friends and cronies from other financial institutions, each one with their own visions and ideas. No single restructuring or idea is given enough time to gestate to see if it will even right the ship. Before long, the person behind it leaves or is fired / laid off, and then the process starts again. Compensation is a nightmare - get a multi-year guarantee or be prepared to get zeroed out when the bank determines it needs cash more than you do.
