Pros

Good Culture: My coworkers and the wider team seemed to understand the train wreck Designit has been heading towards, especially with leadership without requisite qualifications. During my time here, my coworkers had also been job hunting and covered for each other while at interviews. I also received some very helpful pointers for tweaking my resume, profile and interview skills.

Cons

Lack of Training: From the beginning, it was clear that the company did not prioritize proper training. While I was confident in my ability to completely my tasks, as l've been doing the same work, I was given minimal instruction on my responsibilities and had to figure out most of my tasks on my own. This lack of training not only made my job harder but also led to errors that could have been avoided with adequate guidance. Ineffective Management: The executive management team was largely ineffective. Chri***ne Bo***on doesn’t seem to be able to handle the pressure and resorts to yelling at employees on larger team calls. There was little to no support from supervisors, who seemed more interested in micromanaging than providing constructive feedback. This led to a toxic work environment where I felt undervalued and unsupported. Extremely cliquey. Lack of Communication: Communication within the company was poor. Important information was often not communicated in a timely manner, leading to confusion and missed deadlines. My manager would email me, and when I emailed responses back, I was told "I don't spend all day in my inbox.". Even during my interview process I was told that my manager was a direct and effective communicator, which is interesting because nothing meaningful was communicated about my performance and growth opportunities. Lack of Goal Mapping: There was a complete absence of goal mapping and strategic planning with my role. I was not given clear target to aim for, making it difficult to measure progress or success. This lack of direction made it hard to stay motivated and understand how my work contributed to the company's overall goals.

Pros

You can say you work for Microsoft and the coworkers are very nice.

Cons

Employees are not valued or compensated accurately, including lack of cost of living increases, a mess of an HR department, overloaded workloads, extended working hours.

New Leadership Needed.

Pros

Designit has a great design pedigree, and over the years, they've done some incredibly impressive work. There's also a tremendous amount of talent in many of the studios all over the world, especially in the European studios, where I used to work.

Cons

Unfortunately, Designit's global leadership team has no idea what they're doing—understandably, since none of them have any experience running a design business. While the CEO, Nic, has good credentials in the traditional management consulting space, he is at a loss as to how to scale a design consultancy or even retain it at its existing size. Over the last couple of years, Designit has gradually lost key leaders from the business, and Nic has slowly but surely surrendered business decisions to Wipro, which has resulted in a massive reduction of headcount across the board in an attempt to become "cost neutral." Nic, being ex-Capco (FS Management Consulting), has built a leadership team around himself comprising other ex-Capco people. No harm in that, except that he’s put them in roles in which they have no prior experience, in an industry that they have no experience, and as if that wasn’t enough, he’s also promoted them from holding middle management positions to being leaders of a global design firm. The end result: Designit is now much worse off than it was before Nic took over. The business is rudderless, and lacks vision.... Nic and his team have had a crack at it; it's time to hand over the baton. Designit needs a leadership team with a real track record of leading and scaling a digital design business. My advice to Wipro, poach someone from Deloitte Digital, Accenture SONG, or one of the big independents offering full-service digital agencies. You've invested heavily in Designit over the years, you desperately need the capability, but it can't continue like this.
