Pros

Have been at the firm for one year, but have been in the legal industry for 8+ years. My interview process (for a staff position) moved quickly and was very straightforward. Benefits and compensation seem standard compared to other US law firms. Working remotely is easy and seamless. Firm management seems very smart and forward-thinking. If you are someone who embraces change and wants to work at a rapidly growing firm, this is a good place for you.

Cons

People are nice but tend to keep to themselves (which could be a pro or con, depending on your personality). There is not a strong firm culture and sometime certain internal policies are not always clear - this is probably due to constant growth and mergers. I think with a bit more time and as people get better integrated, the culture of the firm will become more established.

Pros

Generally, nice people, for a City law firm you're treated like a human and not a drafting machine.

Cons

The firm's management is quite focused on international expansion, global strategy and other big things, which doesn't leave much time or money for smaller things, like salaries being below market or general atmosphere.

Legacy McKenna

Pros

Good people, good hours, very accessible and friendly support staff, decent corporate culture, attorneys and professionals (at least in the group I worked) were nice people and extremely talented at what they do.

Cons

The merger with Dentons cost some very valuable people and specialized practice groups on the McKenna side, which is understandable given the size of the move. However, with the transition to largest firm in the world, some of uniqueness and branding seemed to be lost. Logistically, the transition has often been confusing and muddled at times.
