Pros

Always good or bad at a big law firm. Compensation was very good. There was a strong commitment to professional development. One of the few firms where I know people who joined right out of law school, stayed, made partner, and are still there.

Cons

Like a lot of firms, there was an ever-widening gap between partners and others in terms of information communicated. Some departments looked after their own better than others.

Pros

Free coffee Clean windows Air conditioned Swivel chair Nice breakroom

Cons

No comprehension of work-life balance or respect for family life Expected to produce like a machine and respond to requests 24/7 Only concerned about being the 'largest' Upper management doesn't know or care who you are Process improvement suggestions are not heard or valued - can not feel like a 'contributor' Too much involvement of upper management for the minutest of decisions or communications No distinct culture - just different firms thrown together
