Pros
Top notch training, compensation gets better over time. They do push you to succeed and work you hard. The rewards of nice parties, excellent resume, top notch talent. It's like going to an ivy league school for accountants because there are only 4 top tier firms. Always a strong network.
Cons
Although programs are in place for work life balance, a lot of partners do not support them off the record. My wife had surgery one day and I called the partner when it was over and he asked me to come to the client site that day since she was done with the surgery.
