      Senior leaders don't know how to manage an organization. They can manage small teams, but few know how to manage large organizations.

      Pros

      "Deloitte" is a great name to have on your resume. By gradually improving responsibilities, it becomes a nice place to start a career.

      Cons

      At the staff level, it's impossible to elevate yourself above your peers without having a partner in your back pocket. Management doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so average performers get very similar reviews to the high-level performers. This gives incentive to slack off.

      Pros

      The pay seems to be well above median. Pay raises (except for this year) have historically been really high (8-15%). Benefits are pretty good (but could be a little better). I have found several managers & principals that will go out of their way to help develop junior staff. Flexibility is pretty good - a lot of people work from home a couple days a month.

      Cons

      Very competitive atmosphere. Few standardized tools. Some practices are small, so the scope of projects is limited. Hours can be pretty tough at times.
