If you can't set your own boundaries, and you demonstrate that you are good at your job, you will become overloaded. The people that do best at Deloitte are able to build solid relationships and leverage those to manage their workload for both interest (so they keep building new skills) and a reasonable volume. These things require that you have the foresight to see a few steps ahead and steer your career accordingly. I did great things there and learned a lot. But because I didn't have those skills at the time, it cost me dearly in my personal life.

Was hired with completely different expectations of the role and did not find a proper role within my given field of expertise the whole time. Beautiful offices but no atmosphere whatsoever, snobby culture. It appears the only people that love their jobs are those who were recruited as apprentices/graduates and stayed onto managers/partners. A lot of potential to disrupt and reshape industries but as a financial audit company first and foremost, they stick to the bread and butter and do not move with the times. The people are also quite obnoxious and have clearly been stuck on a pedestal all their lives, as an experienced hire I found it hard to find common ground or level playing field with any of them as they could not relate to reality. If you don't network or suck up to leadership you stand out like a sore thumb so be warned!
