Pros

401K program is pretty good. There are good people who work there.

Cons

Nonstop nickel and diming of employees to save a buck in OPEX. Employees are clearly not valued and are treated as commodities. Very much still a TON of dead wood at Dell. People surround you that are happy to be ripping down a paycheck and doing whatever...there is no drive or passion with these folks because they just want to get a check, not interested in developing themselves or a career path other than the next level to make more pay, be more secure, (because if you are a C3 or a D level employee, typically you are more protected) and get a bigger bonus. Culture of followers, no real innovation.

You have a lot of flexibility to get the job done, and self-starters will appreciate the ability to shape their role as they see fit.

Cons

Dell turns on a dime, which can result in a lot of churn. You always have to do more with less.

Pros

Big company with name recognition. For the technical folks, tremendous effort provided by the company to provide the best training available. For everyone else, it's a bit hit or miss. Benefits are average to good, salary and bonus tied together make the compensation competitive. Starting to finally realize who the competition is and that serious work is necessary to compete in the global market.

Cons

Day to day management seems to always be in a crisis mode. Been at Dell less than three years and have experienced 2 major reorganizations, currently working for my 3rd director. Doesn't seem to be a consistent strategy that can be used to plan around and exectued
