      Pros

      There is the potential for exposure to a variety of technologies. Projects go very quickly so the core skills revolve more around program management, augmented by testing/troubleshooting the specific technology in use.

      Cons

      There is no real design done; this is done by the OEM/ODM. The net is that light touch means there is very little control over the design of the product.

      Pros

      10-5'ers dream come true - plenty of room for work-life balance. Little oversight and no hard deadlines make for a low pressure work environment.

      Cons

      Lack of drive in many divisions. Excessive outsourcing for many functions cripples productivity. Completely ineffective IT support. Obsessive focus on cost cutting is penny wise and pound foolish.

      Very poor recognition of the "good" and very quick recognition of the "bad." You're only a number. The corporate culture is VERY competitive. There's no notion of teamwork and collaboration for mutual goals.
