Pros

Nice corporate facilities. Most employees are nice

Cons

1. The operating systems that they use are very old. The lack of new technology makes employees work much harder instead of smarter. There is down time due to interfacing the systems. 2. Some employees have been at the company for 20 years plus with little experience in the field that they are working in. Employees are often promoted into positions that they have no previous experience. They are only taught what management wants them to know and therefore do not know how to ask educated questions or make suggestions for improvement. 3. Suggestions for improvements by new employees are often ignored because management is set in doing things their way, even if it is ineffective. This company is not proactive but is reactive. 4. They have too many meetings and never get anything accomplished. If clear expectations were set then the need for multiple meetings would be eliminated. Management does not like to document things in email. They would rather waste an hour in a meeting discussing. 5. Corporate employees are not guaranteed specific holidays off. This company accrues holiday time. Therefore you must request the holiday that you want off before you can actually take it off. Deadlines are not pushed back due to holidays so the time may be denied.

Pros

Work from home. Stable company. ok benefits. casual dress attire.

Cons

The company has a poverty mentality. Decisions are made on how much it'll cost instead of how much value it will add to the company. You will have to fight to get the basic tools needed to perform your job. A lot of people are stuck here. Probably due to the fact that while here you will not gain any marketable skills. If you have any type of formal education or training, It counts for nothing here. It actually counts as a strike against you as most mid manangers here do not have degrees but yet they manage teams of educated associates. The lack of training or education amongst some of management results in insecurity, defensiveness, micro managing, lack of vison and myopic views. If you try to suggest an idea they become defensive. This company loves to recreate the wheel. You feel like a dog chasing its tail. I will say that the new CIO is doing a great job of trying to bring the IT department into the new millennium. It will be a challenge because of the antiquated mindsets. Lack of advancement. If may take you 10-15 yrs to get to Manager.
