Pros

Food Lion is a family type family. Everyone is so nice, friendly and polite. The compensation is higher than average for NC. There is so much to fix, that makes you look good, doing just a little.

Cons

There are two buildings. The older building I worked at is a lackluster ugly building with no proper cafeteria, no gym or other facilities. There is a huge resistance to change and progress across the company from top to bottom.

Good 401k participation by company. Corporate purchase discounts. Good balance work-family life in most cases. Friendly atmosphere. Job eight to five.

Cons

Not much room for advancement for most corporate positions. Tenure is more respected than results. Company does not keep up with the best practices and technology. No cost awareness in general. Way too many reorg changes in short time spans.
