Pros

1. Enjoy buying sport equipments with employee discount. 2. You can do sport just outside the office, they have basketball and volley ball court. 3. They have coffee machine and many different kinds of tea.

Cons

1. Internal system changes constantly and it's all a mess. 2. Too many politics things inside the office. 3. The top management has no knoweledge about the products and suppliers, always asking for ridiculous demand. 4. Some team leaders often make excuses not to come to the office during the covid pandemic. However, normal employees still have to come to the office. What a joke. 5. They always focus on the company values rather than actual skills. 6. Do too many useless trainings, what a watste of time.

Pros

Nice office, plenty of sport activities in the office that you can join. Young atmostphere in the team

Cons

Decathlon does not value people who has an accounting qualification. Most of the team lack of any accounting qualification approved in Ireland. This turns out to a continue battle to convince "Decathlonians" the way the accounting standards need to be apply. There is an excess of french language use, it could be reasonable for some thing as it is a french company but there are lots of employees in group that are no capable to speak in English and as a consequence of that they contact they contact you in french. Moreover many the process documents to be used to learn the tasks are only in french -apparently you do not need to be able to speak or understand french but once you are in, it is a different story. The team tends to have a policy of pointing fingers when things go wrong but they will frequently play two faces being nice in the face and stab in the back. The amount of work by teammate varies a lot, some people are genuinely busy others take breaks for hours. The working hours is 9am-6pm and you can be expected to have meetings from start to finish of your day There is an excess of useless meetings, that pile up very quickly. There is a continuous fight for you to schedule yourself as "busy" otherwise you get nothing done. There are lots of IT applications , however the problem is the quantity but the quality. The apps stop working properly quiet frequently. Also the IT resources you are given are not enough to process some of the task you have been assigned. This is not an issue of having a slow system, some tasks that could be do in a couple of hours could take more than 15h just because the laptop is not enough. To be honest you start very excited in the company but as the months go by and the issues arise it begins to be quiet disappointing. They are not bad people but they have lots to learn.
